PART 2

1. Describe the family structure. include individuals and any relevant attributes defining the family composition, race/ethnicity, social class, spirituality, and environment.

They were a typical nuclear family, with the father, mother, and children all living under the same roof. The family consisted of the father (45), the mother (43), and two children (13 and 11).  The primary tasks of the mother and father are to provide for the family's financial needs. Father is a bank accountant, while mother is a licensed practical nurse. The parents employ a housekeeper to care for their children, whose services they pay for. While the mother isn't at work, she takes on some of the domestic responsibilities such as cooking and gardening. In his spare time, the father fixes domestic appliances and plumbing. It's also a good idea for the youngsters to go online to school because of the present epidemic.

Family members hail from Mindanao or the southernmost portion of the country; they are Roman Catholics by faith, however one of the children attends a Born-Again Christian church. They live in an overall safe atmosphere that is favorable to good health.

2. Summarize the overall health behaviors of the family. describe the current health of the family.

Because no one in the family has a life-threatening disease, the family reports that they are "usually well," while some of them are struggling with specific health issues. Even though the mother was diagnosed with hypertension 10 years ago (at the age of 38), she has been taking medicine to keep it under control ever since (Losartan Hcl 40 mg ODHS). Hemopathology findings from five years ago indicated that she had a benign colon polyp. For the sake of her family, she has taken great care in ensuring that she maintains a healthy lifestyle (food, sleep, and exercise). The father, on the other hand, is in otherwise good health but for the odd soreness and pain brought on by exhaustion in his muscles. Three years ago, he had a laparoscopic cholecystectomy and recovered without complications. He has been smoking for at least 20 years now (for only around 1-5 sticks daily). Eldest daughter experiences periodic heartburn and severe dysmenorrhea whereas her younger sister has bronchial asthma that is well-controlled. COVID-19 has forced the family to halt annual consultations, something they had previously done every year.

3. Based on your findings, describe at least two of the functional health pattern strengths noted in the findings. discuss three areas in which health problems or barriers to health were identified?

The family showed strength in the functional health patterns of

  1. Role-Relationship Pattern, as they've stated, they're aware of and committed to playing these roles according to cultural norms and expectations.
  2.  Cognitive Patterns, since they have stated, they have no worries about their mental health or cognitive processes.

As a matter of fact, the family has shown signs of illness or impediments to health in:

  1. Health Perception Pattern, there are some practices that prevent them from achieving overall health (e.g. smoking and lack of exercise)
  2. Activity-Exercise Pattern, considering how little physical activity there is in the majority of households (as previously stated),
  3. Self-Perception Patterns, given that they've expressed dissatisfaction with their physical appearance, it's possible that this has impacted their sense of self-worth. Inadequacies in the family's activity-exercise pattern may also serve as a risk factor for a variety of health problems, and the family's self-perception patterns may have an effect on the mental and physical health of the members and the family as a whole. These issues may make it more difficult for the family to achieve optimal health.4. Your assignment must include an eco-map and a genogram- as shown in the required
