Currently, the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) transition in California has seen many nursing students enrolling in the DNP program since its inception in 2006. The transition of DNP in California has ensured that nursing students are equipped with the highest level of practice-focused expertise in evidence-based practice (DNP, 2020). The transition of DNP has also seen the demand of DNP-educated nurse is continuously rising in California as a result of the accelerated demand at a higher level of nursing care in California’s sophisticated healthcare system.

As an NP, the AACN recommendations significantly impact my future career. As an NP, the recommendations will equip me with leadership, critical thinking, case management skills, and health promotion practice, which will enable me to practice across a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings (AACN, 2020). Besides, the AACN recommendations will ensure that I am equipped with skills that will help me safeguard the quality of patient care and reduce patient mortality. Most importantly, the recommendations will inspire me to innovate and seek opportunities to advance my nursing profession with the dynamic nursing field.
